TSB, NatWest and Smile (a division of Co-operative Bank) have increased the interest rates on overdraft facilities. The rate rises came into force on the 1st September 2006.

Classic: increased by 0.2% to 18.4% AER

Classic Plus: increased by 2.5% to 18.0% Gold Service: increased by 0.3% to 16.5% AER

Gold Service Plus: increased by 1.1% to 15.9% AER

Platinum Current: increased by 0.3% to 11.5% AER

Platinum Current Plus: lowered 0.1% to 9.9% AER

Select: raised 0.3% to 18.0% AER

Select Plus: raised 1.7% to 16.5% AER

NatWest

Current Plus & Current Plus-Advantage Blue (£1): increased by 1.17% to 18.86% AER

Current Plus & Current Plus-Advantage Blue (£1,000): raised 1.16% to 17.95% AER

Current Plus & Current Plus-Advantage Blue (£5,000): raised 1.14% to 15.93% AER

Advantage Gold (£1): raised 1.16% to 17.14% AER

Advantage Gold (£1,000): raised 1.15% to 16.74% AER

Advantage Gold (£5,000): raised 1.14% to 15.13% AER

Advantage Premier: raised 1.07% to 10.99% AER

Smile
Authorised overdraft rate: increased by 2%, to as much as 11.9% AER

Monthly service charge: increased by £2.50 to £10
